A Khutbah Regarding Increasing the Saalih (righteous) Amaal (deed) in the last ten days of the Month Ramadhan

Chapter: The Deeds in the last ten days of Ramadhan

It was narrated on the authority of Aisha (radiyallahu anha) that she said:

With the start of the last ten days of Ramadhan, the Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work hard) and used to pray all the night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers. (Bukhari, Hadith no: 2024)

It was narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Umar (radiyallahu anhuma) that he said:

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to practice Itikaf (seclusion) in the last ten days of the month of Ramadhan. (Bukhari, Hadith no: 2025)

Allah Taala states:

We have indeed revealed this (Message i.e. Quran) in Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power). And what will explain to thee what the Laylatul Qadr is? Laylatul Qadr is better than a thousand months. Therein come down the Malaikah (angels) and the Ruh (i.e. Jibril) by the permission of their Rabb (Lord i.e. Allah), on every errand: Peace! This until the rise of morn! (al-Qadr 97/1-5)

It was narrated on the authority of Aisha (radiyallahu anha) that she said:

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to practice Itikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadhan and used to say: Look for the Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadhan." (Bukhari, Hadith no: 2020)

It was narrated on the authority of Abi Hurayra (radiyallahu anh) that he said:

The Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: Whoever fasted the month of Ramadhan out of sincere Imaan (Faith) and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the Laylatul Qadr out of sincere Imaan and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven." (Bukhari, Hadith no: 2014)
Shaykhul Islam Ibnu Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) said:

"All statements that had been said by the Mutaakhirrin (latter ones) differing from the Mutaqaddimin (predecessors) and that had not been previously mentioned by any other, is a mistake. As Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (rahimahullah) said:

"Refrain from speaking about a matter without an Imam!.." (Ibnu Taymiyyah, Majmaul Fatawa, 21/291)

Bismillh,

Just a reminder!
Shaykh'ul Islm Ibnu Taymiyyah (Rahimahullh) stated,

"The lim (scholar) recognizes the Jhil (ignorant) since he was once a Jhil. The Jhil does not recognize the lim since he has never been an lim." (Shaykh'ul Islm Ibnu Taymiyyah, Majm'ul Fatw, 13/235)
