Khutbatul Haajah1

All thanks and praise is due to Allah, we seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves and the consequences of our evil deeds. Whoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whoever Allah leads astray will never find guidance.

I bear witness there is no -true- God -deserving to be worshiped- but Allah, alone without any partners, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger.

O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims in submission to Him. (Al-i Imran 3/102);

O mankind! Fear your Guardian Lord, Who created you from one soul and created out of it his mate and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women. Fear Allah, through Whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (be heedful) the wombs (that bore you): for Allah ever watches over you.. (an-Nisa 4/1);

O you who believe! fear Allah, and make your utterance straight forward. That He may make your conduct whole and sound, and forgive you your sins: He that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the great victory.. (al-Ahzab 33/70-71)

Verily, the most truthful speech is Kalaamullah, the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), and the worst affairs are newly invented matters. Every newly invented matter is a Bidah (religious innovation), and every Bidah is Dalalah (misguidance), and every misguidance is in the (Hell)fire.

Wa bad (to proceed).

1- This Dua (prayer) that is well-known as Khutbatul Hajah (The Sermon of Necessity) is recited by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) during his Jumua Khutbah (Friday Sermon) and other occasions, it was also taught to the Sahabah by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). It was recorded by Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Nasai, Abu Yala, Bayhaqi, Imam Ahmad with a Sahih (sound) Sanad (chain of narration) and some of it was narrated by Muslim. Shaykhul Islam Ibnu Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) stated the following regarding it:

فَهَذِهِ الْخُطْبَةُ عِقْدُ نِظَامِ الْإِسْلَامِ وَالْإِيمَانِ

This Khutbah is a knot between the Islamic system and the Iman. (Ibnu Taymiyyah, Majmuul Fatawa, 14/223)

Our Dawah (Call)

Our sole purpose primarily, is to circulate the Aqidah of Tawhid everywhere we are able to reach. This is the call of all the Rasul (messenger) and Nabi (prophet) from Adam (alayhi salam) to the Khatamul Anbiya (the last of the prophets) Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), striving against all types of Kufr and Shirk that nullify Tawhid and exposing fake deities and Taaghout which call people to worship them. Allah Taala states the following Ayah in this regards:

وَقَاتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّى لَا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّينُ كُلُّهُ لِلّٰهِ فَإِنِ انْتَهَوْا فَإِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
And fight them on until there is no more persecution, and religion becomes Allah's in its entirety. (al-Baqarah 2/193; al-Anfal 8/39)

In addition, the Aqidah of al-Wara wal Bara which is one of the most important Rukn (pillar) of Tawhid, the Takfir of the Mushrikin fixed to the Aqidah of al-Wara wal Bara, accordingly the limits of Imaan and Kufr becoming evident is one of the hallmarks of our Dawah. The removal of the doubts regarding the matters of Aqidah, especially in the matters of Imaan and Kufr that are innovated by the Dai (caller) of Baatil (falsehood) is also one of our purposes. We aspire to establish the Wasat (medium) Aqidah of Ahlus Sunna wal Jamaah that is far from Ifrat (taking maters to the extreme) and Tarfit (neglecting its true meaning).

After Tawhid, the most important topic we call to is the Sunnah. Connotation especially to the matters of Aqidah but not limited to it; accepting and practicing every matter of Islam as Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and his Ashaab counseled and lived, also rejecting every Bidah innovated after them. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) in a Sahih (authentic) Hadith stated that his Ummah (nation) will be divided into seventy-three sects and that only one of them will be saved. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) named them as Firqai Naajiyah (the Saved Group) and described their affair stating:

مَا أَنَا عَلَيْهِ وَأَصْحَابِي
(Those who follow) my path and the path of my Ashaab (companions)... 2

The Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah is the only group that follows this noble path.

No individual or group entered the saved group by merely identifying themselves as Ahlus Sunnah. The most apparent quality of the Ahlus Sunnah is submitting to the Salafus Salihin (the righteous predecessors) whom are the best of the people and the first three generations (of beginning of the Islam) and staying away from the Bidah and Munkar (evil) that was innovated by the Khalaf (later generations). As narrated in the Sahih (of Bukhari) from Imran bin Husayn (radiyallahu anh) Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) stated:

The best of my followers are those living in my generation (i.e. my contemporaries). And then those who will follow the latter. -Imran (radiyallahu anh) added: I do not remember whether he mentioned two or three generations after his generation- There will come after you, people who will bear witness without being asked to do so, and will be treacherous and untrustworthy, and they will vow and never fulfill their vows, and fatness will appear among them."3

After Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and his Ashaab, the Rabbani Ulama took on the mission of calling to Tawhid and the Sunnah fitting the Hadith:

الْعُلَمَاءُ خُلَفَاءُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ إِنَّ الأَنْبِيَاءَ
The scholars are the successors of the prophets."4

At this point, our goal is to become a bridge between Ilm and the people by conveying the legacy concerning the Ilm (sacred knowledge) of the Rabbani Ulama, which attained the mission of calling to Tawhid and the Sunnah after the prophets. The source of this Ilm reaches Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) through Jibril-i Amin (alayhi salam) to the Lord of the Worlds (Jalla wa Jalaluhu). The Ulama will represent this Ilm until the Day of Qiyamah (Doomdsay). Since Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) stated:

لاَ يَزَالُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ بِأَمْرِ اللّٰهِ، لاَ يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَذَلَهُمْ، وَلاَ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ، حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُمْ أَمْرُ اللّٰهِ وَهُمْ عَلَى ذٰلِكَ
"A group of people amongst my followers will remain obedient to Allah's orders and they will not be harmed by anyone who will not help them or who will oppose them, till Allah's Order (the Last Day) comes upon them while they are still on the right path."5

That is why it is also our goal to spread the books of the Ulamaa (pl. Alim; scholars) whom had been stand bearers of the Aqidah of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah throughout history and the Ilm that they inherited from Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). In order to reach this goal; we take the Manhaj (methodology of attaining Ilm) of the Salafus Salihin whom are praised by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) as base for us. We would like to convey the legacy of the Aimmah (pl. Imam) of Hadith and Sunnah who had not been affected from Kalaam (theological rhetoric) and philosopy, persistent upon the Aqidah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and his Ashaab, in short; the scholars among the Firqa-i Najiyaah and Taifatul Mansura (Victorious Group).

Our call (Inshallah) will never be calling people to our own views that have no base from the Salaf nor to groups that have been consituted by the Asabiyyah (tribalism/nationalism) of Jaahiliyyah (the prelslaamic days of ignorance).

Tawfiq (success) is lies in Allah Taala...

Muqaddimah (Preface)6

Bismillahirrahmnirrahm,

O Rabb (Lord) help me (in narrating 40 Hadth that which Ibnu Taymiyyah Narrated with Isnd)!

Zayn Ab Muhammad Abdir Rahmn Ibnul Imd Ab Bakr bin Zurayq al-Hanbal (Rahimahullh) informed us in his book more than once that Abul Abbs Ahmad bin Ab Bakr bin Ahmad bin Abdul Hamd al-Maqdis (Rahimahullh) informed us. We listened from him on Saturday 24th Safar year 797H that he wrote to the three Shaykh; Ab Ishq al-Harmal (Rahimahullh), Ab Muhammad al-Baqar (Rahimahullh) and Abul Abbs ar-Rasln (Rahimahullh) that they said, Hfidh Ab Abdullh Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Uthmn adh-Dhahab (Rahimahullh) informed us as an absolute permit and they both said, ash-Shaykh al-Imm al-lim al-Allamah al-Bar (the skilled) al-Awhadul Quduwwah (the exemplary one) Hfidh Abul Abbs Ahmad bin Abdul Halm bin Abdus Salm bin Taymiyyah (Rahimahullh) informed us. Dhahab (Rahimahullh) said, I read to him in (the month) Jamadiyal Akhir year 721H. He (Rahimahullh) said,

Hamd (thanks and praise) is due to Allh Tal, we praise He Tal, and we seek His help, His Hidayah (guidance) and His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allh from the evil within ourselves, and the consequences of our evil deeds. Whomever Allh guides will never be led astray, and whomever Allh leads astray will never find guidance.

We bear witness there is no -true- God -deserving to be worshiped- but Allh; alone without any partners, and we bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger whom Allh sent with guidance and the Religion of Truth (Islm), that Allah make it prevail over all religion, even though the Mushrikun (idol worshipers/pagans) may detest (it).7 May peace and abundance of greetings of Allh be upon Muhammad, his household and his Ashb (companions). (mn!)

The First Hadth

Imm Zaynud Dn Abul Abbs Ahmad bin Abdid Dim bin Nimah bin Ahmad al-Maqdis informed (reported to) us, it was recited to him and I heard from him in the year 677H- Abul Faraj Abdul Munim bin Abdil Wahhb bin Sad bin Kulayb informed us, it was recited to him, Abul Qsim Ali bin Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Bayn ar-Razzz informed us, it was recited to him, Abul Hasan Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Ibrhm bin Mukhlad al-Bazzz informed us, Ab Ali Isml bin Muhammad bin Isml as-Saffr informed us, Hasan bin Arafah bin Yazid al-Abd narrated to us, Ab Bakr bin Ayysh narrated to me on the authority of Ab Ishq as-Sabi on the authority of Bara bin zib (Radiyallhu anh) that he said:

Raslullh (Sallalahu Alayhi wa Sallam) and his Ashb (companions) came out then we entered Ihram for Hajj. Bara bin zib (Radiyallhu Anh) said, When we came to Makkah, Raslullh (Sallalahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said,

Make your Hajj (to) an Umrah. He said, The people said, O Messenger of Allh, we have entered Ihram for Hajj, how can we make it an Umrah? He said, upon this Raslullh (Sallalahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: Look at what I command you to do, and do it. He said, the people did not obey (repeated their question) therefore Raslullh (Sallalahu Alayhi wa Sallam) got angry and went away until Raslullh (Sallalahu Alayhi wa Sallam) entered upon isha (Radiyallhu Anha) in extreme anger. isha (Radiyallhu Anha) saw anger in his face, so she said, Who has made you angry? May Allah vex him! Raslullh (Sallalahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: Why should I not get angry, when I give a command and it is not followed (in obedience)?

It was narrated by Nasa and Ibnu Mjah from the Hadth of Abu Bakr bin Aysh.

He was born in the month of Safar, year 575H, died on Monday 8th Rajab, year 668H.8

The Second Hadith

Ash-Shaykhul Musnad Kamlud Dn Ab Nasr Abdul Azz bin Abdil Munim Ibnul Khadr bin Shibl Ibnu Abdul Hrith informed us about the Qirh (recitation) done upon him, and I listened to him on the day of Jumuah (Friday) the sixth of Shabn in the year 669 at Jmi (Mosque) Dimashq. Hfidh Ab Muhammad al-Qsim Ibnul Hfidh Abl Qsim Ali Ibnul Hasan bin Hibatillh Ibnu Askir informed us about the recitation done upon him in Rabul khir in the year 695, (he said) Abl Fadil Nsir bin Mahmd bin Ali al-Quds as-Sigh informed us. Abl Qsim Nasr bin Ahmad bin Muqtil as-Ss also informed us, about the recitation upon both of them. They said: Abl Hasan Ali bin Ahmad bin Zuhayr al-Mlik (said): Abl Hasan Ali bin Muhammad Ibnu Shuj ar-Rab al-Mlik narrated to us that: Ab Bakr Muhammad bin Abdur Rahman bin Ubaydullh al-Qattn (said:) Khaythamah narrated to us that: Abbs Ibnul Wald narrated to us that: Uqbah bin Alqamah (said:) Sad bin Abdul Azz narrated to us, from Atiyyah bin Qays, from Abdullh bin Amr (Radiyallahu Anhuma) that he said that Raslullh (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said:

‏إني رأيت عمود الكتاب انْتُزِعَ من تحت وسادتي، فنظرت فإذا هو نور ساطع، عُمِدَ به إلى الشام ألا إن الإيمان - إذا وقعت الفتن - بالشام
Verily I saw the spine of a book stripped from under my pillow, so I looked at it and it was an eminent Nr (light), it (the light) was to embark upon Shm (Syria). Verily, when the Fitan (trials and tribulations) arise Imn (belief) will be in Shm.

He (Rahimahullh) was born in the year 589H and he died in Shabn, year 672H.
Shaykh'ul Islam Ibnu Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) stated:

The Third Hadth

Imm Taqiyud Dn Ab Muhammad Isml bin Ibrhm bin Ab'l Yusr at-Tannkh informed, the recitation upon him and I listened to it in the year 669, Ab Thir Barakt bin Ibrhm al-Khush informed us, that it was recited upon him, Ab Muhammad Abdul Karm bin Hamza Ibnul Khadir as-Sulam informed us that, Abl Husayn Tahir bin Ahmad bin Ali bin Mahmd al-Mahmd al-n informed that Abl Fadhl Mansr bin Nasr bin Abdur Rahm bin bintul Kghid told us, Ab Amr al-Hasan bin Ali Ibnul Hasan al-Attr told us that Ibrhm bin Abdullh bin Umar bin Bakr Ibnul Hrith al-Qays told us that, Waki Ibnul Jarrh bin Mulayh ar-Ruws narrated from al-mash, from Ab Slih, from Ab Sad al-Khudr (Radiyallhu Anh) that he said: Raslullh (Salallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) stated,

Nh (Alayhis Salm) will be called (to the presence of Allh Tal) on Yawmul Qiymah (the Day of Resurrection), and it will be said to him, Did you convey (the message of Allh Tal)? Nh (Alayhis Salm) will say, Yes (I conveyed the message of Allh Tal). Then the nation of Nh (Alayhis Salm) will be called (to the presence of Allh Tal) and it will be said to them, Was it conveyed (Did Nh convey Allahs message to you)? They will say, No warner came to us and no one came to us. Then it will be said to Nh (Alayhis Salm), Who will give witness for you? Nh (Alayhis Salm) will say, Muhammad (Salallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) and his Ummah (nation). Thus, this is (as it is in the) statement of Allh Tal,

Thus We made of you a Wasat Ummah (al-Baqarah 2/143)

He said: (The term used in the Ayah) الوسط al-Wasat (the middle/ moderate) is العدل al-Adl (justly balanced).

He was born in the year 589H and died in Safar year 672H.
Shaykh'ul Islam Ibnu Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) stated:

"The Alim (scholar) recognizes the Jaahil (ignorant) it is because he was once Jaahil. The Jaahil does not recognize the Alim it is because he has never been an Alim." (Shaykh'ul Islam Ibnu Taymiyyah, Majmu'ul Fatawa, 13/235)

The Fourth Hadth

Al-Faqh Sayfud Dn Ab Zakariyy Yahy bin Abdur Rahmn bin Najm bin Abdul Wahhb al-Hanbal informed us about the recitation upon him and I heard it on the day of Jumuah on the 10th of Shawwl in the year 669H, and Ab Abdullh Muhammad bin Abdul Munim Ibnul Qawws, and Muammil bin Muhammad al-Blis and Ab Abdullh Muhammad bin Ab Bakr al-mir in (his book) at-Tarkh, and Abl Abbs Ahmad bin Shaybn, and Ab Bakr bin Muhammad al-Harawi, and Ab Zakariyy Yahy bin Ab Mansr Ibnus Sayraf and Abl Faraj Abdur Rahmn bin Sulaymn al-Baghdd, and ash-Shams bin az-Zayn, and Kaml Abdur Rahm, and Ibnul Asqaln, and Zaynab Bint Makk, and Sittul Arab, the first one said, Ibnu Shaybn, and Zaynab said: Ab Hafs Umar bin Muhammad Ibnu Tabarzadh informed us, al-Bqn and Ibnu Shaybn said, Zayd Ibnul Hasan al-Kind informed us, Zada Ibnus Sayraf, so he said, and Ab Muhammad Abdul Azz bin Mal bin Ghunaymah bin Maniyyin (informed us) that it was recited upon him, they said, al-Qdh Ab Bakr Muhammad bin Abdul Bq bin Muhammad bin Abdullh al-Ansr informed us, (from) Ab Ishq Ibrhm bin Umar bin Ahmad al-Barmak informed us, (from) Ab Muhammad Abdullh bin Ibrhm bin Ayyb bin Ms informed us, Ab Muslim Ibrhm bin Abdullh bin Muslim al-Kaj narrated to us, Muhammad bin Abdullh al-Ansr narrated to us, Humayd narrated to me, from Anas (Radiyallhu Anh) that ar-Rubay bintun Nadr, who was his paternal aunt, slapped a Jriyah (slave girl), so she broke her tooth. (The relatives of ar-Rubay) offered them (the girls relatives) to accept the Arsh (compensation that is paid in return of wounds) but they refused. Then they asked for forgiveness, but they refused. Thus, they went to the Nab (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam), so he ordered them to do Qiss (retaliation). Then her brother Anas Ibnun Nadr (Radiyallhu Anh) came and said, Y Raslullh! The tooth of ar-Rubay will be broken? No, by the One who has sent you with the Haqq (truth), her tooth will not be broken. Raslullh (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, O Anas! Kitbullh (orders) Qiss. Then the tribe was pleased (i.e. relatives of the girl) forgave her. Therefore Raslullh (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said,

There are from amongst Ibdullh (the slaves of Allh) those who if they take an oath by Allh, Allh fulfils it.

Narrated by Bukhr from (Muhammad Ibnu Abdullah) al-Ansr. His birth date is 592H, and he died in the Shawwl of 672H.

The Fifth Hadth

Al-Hjjul Musnad Ab Muhammad Ab Bakr Ibnu Muhammad bin Ab Bakr bin Abdil Wsi al-Haraw informed us on the fourth of Rabul Awwal in the year 668 (Hijri), and the mentioned people with their Sanad (chain) up to al-Ansr, he said, Humayd narrated to me from Anas (Radiyallhu Anh) that Raslullh (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said,

Help your brother, whether he is a Dhlim (oppressor) or he is a Madhlm (oppressed one)! Anas said, I said, Y Raslullh! I help him when he is a Madhlm, so how can I help him when he is a Dhlim? Raslullh (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, By preventing him from adh-Dhulm (oppression). Thus this is helping him.

Al-Bukhr reported it from Uthmn bin Ab Shayba from Hushaym. Tirmidh also reported it from Muhammad bin Htim from al-Ansr (with the same Sanad) just as we reported it- and he said, Hasan Sahh. ash-Shaykh Shamsud Dn bin Ab Umar informed it to us -and I recited upon him- that Abl Yaman al-Kind informed us. He mentioned his birthdate 594H, and he died in Rajab in the year 673H.

The Sixth Hadth

Ash-Shaykhul Musnad Zaynud Dn Abul Abbs al-Muammal bin Muhammad bin Al İbnu Muhammad bin Al bin Mansr Ibnul Muammal al-Blis reported to us about the recitation upon him, and I listened to it in the year 669H, and he mentioned people with their Sanad up to al-Ansr, he said, Sulaymn at-Taym informed me, from Anas bin Mlik (Radiyallhu Anh) that he said, Raslullh (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said,

Whoever lies about me intentionally, then let him occupy his seat in the Nr (fire i.e. Hell-fire).

Narrated by al-Bukhr and Muslim with the same meaning from the narration of Abdul Azz bin Suhayb from Anas (Radiyallhu Anh).

He was born in the year 602H and it is also said on the 3rd, and he died in Rajab in the year 677H.
Shaykh'ul Islam Ibnu Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) stated:

The Seventh Hadth

Ash-Shaykhul Adl Rashdud Dn Ab Abdullh Muhammad bin Ab Bakr Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Sulaymn al-mir reported to us about the recitation upon him, and I  listened to it in the year 669H, and the mentioned people with their Sanad up to al-Ansr, he said, at-Taym narrated to me, Anas bin Mlik (Radiyallhu Anh) narrated to us and he said,

Two men sneezed in the presence of the Nab (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) so the Nab (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) did Shammat (said Yarhamukallh i.e. may Allh have mercy upon you!)

Or the Nab (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said Yarhamukallh to the first one but did not say Yarhamukallh to the second one.

Or the Nab (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said Yarhamukallh but did not say Yarhamukallh to the second one.

Thus, it was said, Y Raslullh! Two men sneezed at your presence and you said Yarhamukallh to one of them and did not say Yarhamukallh to the other!?

Or Raslullh (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) replied to him but not to the other!?

Thus Raslullh (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, This one praised Allh so I said Yarhamukallh back to him, and this one did not praise Allh so I did not say Yarhamukallh to him.

Al-Bukhr narrated it from Muhammad Ibnu Kathr from Sufyn ath-Thawr (Hadth no: 6221), and Muslim narrated it from Muhammad bin Abdullh bin Numayr from Hafs Ibnu Giyth (Hadth no: 2991); both of them narrated from (Sulaymn) at-Taym.

He died in Dhul Hijjah in the year 682H.
